Abstract
In the late Ch'in dynasty,the foremost peasant
uprising against Ch'in government was initiated by Chen Sheng and Wu Kuang in
the eastern region of China. Impressively most supporters of such revolt were
people from the six eastern countries as well. As a result, these six countries
play an important role in orerthrowing the Ch'in dynasty. This essay will
examine the main factors contributing to the peasant uprisings at that time.
The analysis of this issue will be done from historical perspective as follows:
1. the rising nationalism among the six defeated countries
2. many atrocities being committed on the conquered
land in wartime and later in its administration
3. Ch'in's ruling policies after conquering other countries
4. intense eagerness from the citizens in the
subjugated countries to restore their homelands
