Abstract
Derivation is a common device of word-formation, and
the comparison of the affixed derivatives between Chinese and Russian, a piece
of virgin land in the comparative studies of the two languages, is based on
affixation, through which large numbers of words have been created in both
languages. The purpose of the present thesis is to reveal, by comparing some
Chinese affixes with their Russian counterparts, the similarities—the
differences moreover—between the word-formation systems of the two languages.
